POWER-GRID POWER USER TUTORIAL SERIES PART 1

Postby CptMunta » 21. Feb 2015, 13:36

Hey Guys here's our first part in the Power-Grid Power User video series.

This video is about landscape mode as well as button sizes and directories.

http://youtu.be/CoqjNx5PNqg

Next video we will be releasing a advanced controls grid with toggle buttons, rotatory knobs, levers etc. These plug in controls can be used by you guys in custom grids with your own graphics, you will just have to point the grid to the graphics in the JSON files (But I'm getting ahead of myself)

Anyways I hope you guys enjoy the video. :)

TOGGLE BUTTONS

Hey Guys, we are have a new tutorial video out today explaining how to create toggle buttons for your grids.

http://youtu.be/hSf279Fc_tQ

You can find the template you need for this grid here:

http://power-grid.roccat.org/en/Store/G ... tyles/493/

There are many ways you can use these controls

Without changing the graphics:

Drag and drop the controls into your Custom grid
Paste your macro into the toggle.qs as explained in the video

Replacing graphics

You can drag and drop the controls into your custom grids and then change the graphics by overwriting the graphics files in the resource folder
Then open toggle.qs with a text editor and paste your macro code for each function

Or

You can can drop your new graphics in the toggle resource folder
Open the plugin.json and change the graphics file names for the button you want to change
Change the name of the control in the toggle.ctrlset.json
Then open toggle.qs with a text editor and paste your macro code for each function

I've made the graphics for the toggle buttons as neutral as possible in case you wanted don't want to change the graphics and just want change the macro in the toggle.qs file.

I hope you guys enjoy the ability to add toggle buttons to your grid with this toggle control pack we've made. Don't be intimidated by the fiddling with the code a bit it's pretty straightforward. If you get a stuck feel free to ask me for help in this forum.

We are thinking about what other kinds of videos we could make. One idea is to show you guys how to make your Roccat Keyboards and mice change/pattern or colour when you press a control on power-grid.

Looking forward to see what you guys come up with :)
